{"id":931,"date":"2021-12-11T14:06:30","date_gmt":"2021-12-11T14:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mididecorstchinian.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=931"},"modified":"2026-04-03T10:20:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T08:20:11","slug":"rustins-outdoor-clear-varnish-satin-clear","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.mididecorstchinian.com\/fr\/produit\/rustins-outdoor-clear-varnish-satin-clear\/","title":{"rendered":"Rustins &#8211; Outdoor Clear Varnish &#8211; Satin &#8211; 250ml 500ml &#038; 1L"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rustins Outdoor Clear Varnish Satin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rustins Outdoor Clear Varnish Satin &#8211; A quick-drying, durable, clear coating which gives a long lasting protection to all external wood and is touch dry in 30 minutes, re-coatable in 4 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Intended Use for the Outdoor Clear Varnish:<br \/>\n<strong>Exterior joinery both hard &amp; softwood, doors, windows, garden furniture, conservatories.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>May also be used as a sealer for concrete.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Special Features:<br \/>\nLow odour, non-yellowing, resists cracking, peeling, blistering.<br \/>\nThe varnish has very little effect on <\/strong><strong>the colour of the timber that it is applied to.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nPreparation:<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of wax, grease and contaminants, smooth and sound.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fill large cracks, open joints and damaged areas with a high quality flexible filler.<br \/>\nWash oily <\/strong><strong>woods, knots or resinous areas with white spirit.<br \/>\nRemove mould, lichens, algae &amp; moss with <\/strong><strong>brush, scraper &amp; domestic bleach, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nApplication:<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Using a synthetic brush, apply liberally with a full brush finishing with the grain.<br \/>\nThe first coat may <\/strong><strong>be diluted with water on hot days (up to 15%).<br \/>\nDo not apply to hot surfaces or in strong sunlight if <\/strong><strong>possible or if rain is likely.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Coats Apply 3 coats and lightly sand after 1st coat if there is raising of the grain.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Drying Time:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Touch dry 30 minutes. (On hot days may be touch dry within 10 minutes).<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nRe-coating Time &#8211;\u00a0 4 hours minimum, depending on temperature &amp; humidity.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nApplication Temp &#8211; Ideally 15-25\u00b0C. Do not apply below 10\u00b0C, or in high humidity or if rain expected.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nCoverage\u00a0 &#8211; 12-15sq.m per litre, 1 coat, depending on absorbency of surface.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nMaintenance &#8211;\u00a0 Re-coat every 2 to 3 years. Clean with a mild detergent solution and lightly sand to provide key.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nCompatibility &#8211; May be applied over old existing coating if these are in good condition and rubbed down to<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>provide a key.\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nSettlement &#8211;\u00a0 STIR WELL BEFORE USE.\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nShelf-life\/Storage &#8211; Many years if stored in original, tightly closed container in normal conditions.
